Adem Zolj, the Sarajevo Canton Prime Minister, Jasmin Halebic, Minister of finance and Muharem Sabic, Minister of economy received today Martin Pammer, the Ambassador of the Republic of Austria in Bosnia-Herzegovina. The cooperation between the Sarajevo Canton and Austria was discussed, especially in the field of economy, but also about other projects realized in the Sarajevo Canton through the Austrian Embassy.
According to Ambassador Pammer, numerous Austrian companies are investing in the Sarajevo Canton and BiH, and current projects are from tourism sector. He emphasized on this occasion good cooperation with the Sarajevo Canton, as well as good cooperation with the City and municipalities.
Members of Government stated that the economy of the Sarajevo Canton recorded steady growth, which is shown by the growth of gross domestic product and the number of newly established companies.
"The development of tourism, as well as small and medium-sized enterprises are in the focus of the work of this Government. I believe that in the realization of future projects, the advantages offered by the Law on Public-Private Partnership should be used more effectively. We need your help and experience as well as experience of Austrian business people. We also need to strengthen cooperation between the Sarajevo Canton Chambers of Commerce and the chambers of Austrian provinces, because we want more investments here, "said Prime minister Zolj.
He announced that an International Energy Conference 2018 will be held in Sarajevo in June and said that this is an opportunity for establishing business cooperation between domestic and foreign companies. He also proposed to the Ambassador the cooperation in the projects of reconstruction of several important buildings from the Austro-Hungarian period, as well as the project "green facades" in Sarajevo.
Ambassador Pammer said that the Embassy stands at the disposal for all contacts and possible cooperation between the Sarajevo Canton and the Austrian regions in both this and other areas. He announced that the Embassy will get a new business adviser in June and asked members of the Government to him for the purpose of future cooperation.
On this occasion, he informed them with the organization of the Second Austrian Ball, dedicated to the friendship of the cities of Sarajevo and Vienna, which will be held in the Sarajevo City Hall on May 12th.
