The conversation about the cooperation of the Ministry of Economy of the Sarajevo Canton and the Faculty of Forestry of the Sarajevo University was the main motive for the visit of the relevant Minister Muharem Šabić to this institution of higher learning. The Director of the Forestry Office of the Sarajevo Canton Samir Fazlić and the Executive Director for the Forestry Sector in KJP "Sarajevošume" Nevres Alispahić also visited this institution.
During the past time, the cooperation was good. The protection of forests as the main resource in the Canton is the mutual interest of these institutions.
"The Ministry of Economy intends to realize several projects important for sustainable forest management and the protection of water protection zones in the Sarajevo Canton. Before being delegated to the Ministry of the Economy, our goal is that certain ideas and decisions need to be evaluated at the Sarajevo Faculty of Forestry", said Minister Šabić and he also added that they intend to do that before the adoption of the Sarajevo Canton Budget for the next year.
Through science research projects, the Sarajevo Faculty of Forestry will give guidelines for activities in the area of forestry to the Cantonal Forestry Office and to KJP "Sarajevošume".
"With the help of these two institutions, we are trying to implement everything that is state-of-the-art in the field of forestry in Europe", said the Dean of the Faculty of Forestry Mirza Dautbašić.
During the meeting, there was also a visit to the modern, recently renewed amphitheatre, the microbilogical laboratory and to the seed science laboratory.
