Support for the development of fast-growing small and medium enterprises

The first meeting of the team for "The coordination of economic development initiatives, development of small and medium-sized enterprises and employment", within the project "Support to the development of fast-growing small and medium-sized enterprises and local business environment (FGSME)" funded by the EU, held on the premises of the Sarajevo regional development agency (SERDA).

This informal body for cooperation coordination was established at the initiative of the Advisory body of the FGSME project, which, together with the project partners, consists of representatives of the Ministry of the Economy of the Sarajevo Canton and the Chamber of the Commerce of Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The first meeting of the coordination team was organized with the objective of presenting the present action plans, measures and initiatives of local communities and the support of the Sarajevo Canton to higher levels of Government in Bosnia and Herzegovina. In addition, the aim of the coordination is strengthening mutual cooperation and exchange of information of relevant institutions and organizations about economic development, SMEs and employment, and preparing projects for the EU funds.

The Partners in the project: Municipalities of Vogošća, Novi Grad Sarajevo and Ilijaš have developed action plans to improve the business environment and cooperation with the business sector in 2016. These action plans were promoted and presented at the same meeting. The meeting was attended by representatives of the Ministry of Economy of the Sarajevo Canton, the Chamber of Commerce of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, representatives of the Local economic development (LER) department of the Ilijaš Municipality, Novi Grad Sarajevo and Stari Grad municipalities, the Association of the business advisors in Bosnia and Herzegovina (LESPnet) and the Sarajevo regional development agency (SERDA) which was the facilitator of the process.
