"The Ministry of the Economy of the Sarajevo Canton is preparing “Regulation Program of river beds for flood protection” for 2015 in the area of the Sarajevo Canton. We have started a series of activities with the Sarajevo municipalities in order to determine the priority projects for funding," said Minister Šabić during the meeting.
It was agreed that the Ministry of the Economy of the Sarajevo Canton, together with The Sava River Watershed Agency allocate funds for the regulation of the river Bosna in Ilidža area, a distance of 750 meters near the Hendekuša place (a part which is not included in the works to be financed from IPA funds).
"It is necessary to have discussion with the Mayor of the Municipality of Novi Grad, Semir Efendić, about property rights, with the aim of issuing permission for the regulation of the river Bosna at the Municipality of Novi Grad," said Director Delić. Most of the agricultural land, both private and those belonging to the public utility companies "Butmir" as well as housing and businesses are at risk along this river.
On this occasion, it was emphasized that the representatives of the Ministry of the Economy of the Sarajevo Canton and The Sava River Watershed Agency must negotiate about projects for the 2016, in order to coordinate activities and joint financing of projects which are of interest for the Sarajevo Canton and the Federation. As boundaries of sanitary protection zones go into another entity, the Agency has to be involved in the process of making "Decision of protection of drinking water sources in the Sarajevo field”.
