Ministry of Economy and the “Teloptic” Company: Concession contract on using potable groundwater

In the name of the Sarajevo Canton Government, minister of Economy, Muharem Šabić, signed a Concession Contract on using potable groundwater with the director of the “Teloptic” Ltd. Sarajevo, Nedim Čaušević.

With this Contract, “Teloptic” gained the right to use the water from the well highlighted as T-1 on the property parcel in Blažuj, Ilidža Municipality, for the period of the next 30 years.

Minister Šabić stated that, with this Contract, the Government of the Sarajevo Canton directly helps the domestic economy.

“Water and all other products made from water by this company will be exported and that is the kind of policy we encourage, growth of national production. He also explained that 60% of means from concessions belong to the municipality and 40% of means belong to the Canton. He highlighted that the Sarajevo Canton Government is putting concessions in order. All of the concessions are being regularly charged, and the Register of Concessions in the Sarajevo Canton has also been published.

I also want to announce amendments on the Law on Concessions. With these amendments we will shorten the procedures for investors, so they can gain concession rights in the shortest amount of time possible. Currently, procedures last for a year – year and a half approximately. Our intent is to shorten that period to six months”, said Šabić

The Director of juice production in “Teloptic”, Ismet Tica, said that the water provided with the concession will be used for bottling of natural spring water “Elle”, and also for bottling of ice teas from that same production line. The water will also be used in the soda drinks production, fruit nectars, juices and fruit syrups. The “Milkos” company which is specialized in milk production (part of the “Teloptic” Group) will have the biggest benefit from this concession.

“Water from the well comes from a depth of 250 meters and all of the domestic and foreign analyses showed that this water is of the finest quality. The concession is the last condition that our company needed to fulfill, and now our natural water “Ella” will be approved by the Food Safety Agency of BiH. With this approval, we gain the right to export this water to the European Union market”, said Tica.
