An increased number of tourists is expected with the arrival of spring and nice weather in the mountains and resorts. The probability of forest fires is increasing with uncontrolled burning of waste weeds.
Pursuant to Article 73 of the Law on Forests of the Sarajevo Canton there is a penalty from 200 to 1,500.00 KM for people who make fire in the forests and on forest land as well as on other land within 150 meters of the forest.
Fires can be lit in the forest and on forest land only in specific places marked in compliance with the prescribed requirements and security measures.
In the case of uncontrolled fire, immediately notify the fire department on phone number 123, Canton Operative Civil Defense Center on number 121 or police on number 122.
Forestry Administration of the Sarajevo Canton requests all citizens, farmers and forestry workers to observe regulations, not to light fire on illegal places, not to leave fire unattended, not to destroy nature and the environment, because their small carelessness can have large consequences.
