The Director of the Cantonal public enterprise “ZOI’84” Midhat Hubijar and the representative of the Consortium of contractors from the Polish company “Supersnow Spolka Akcyjna” Rafael Topolski signed the Contract on projecting and constructing vertical transport and artificial snow system on the Olympic mountain Bjelašnica. Besides this Polish company, the Consortium consists of Swiss company “Bartholet Mashinenbau AG” and Sarajevo company MGBH LLC.
As Director Hubijar said, with the realization of this contract, a new cableway and artificial snow system will be projected and constructed.
“It is planned that a six seat cableway will be constructed from Babin Dol to the intermediate  station and a four seat cableway from relay station to the Mountain top of Mt Bjelašnica. Artificial snow system will be built on the whole route 1 to the turnaround station of the six seat cableway and route 3, better known as Donja Kolijevka with a connection with route 1 to the turnaround station of six seat cableway station” said Director Hubijar.
He thanked the Government of the Sarajevo Canton for the support to the Cantonal public enterprise “ZOI’84” in the realization of this important project. He said that with the installation of this new equipment, the ski resort of our Olympic mountain will have the optimal conditions for providing the highest quality service in this kind of business. According to Director Hubijar, the development of a detailed design is near completion and the deadline for its delivery is the end of this or beginning of the next month. Beginning of works on this mountain is also planned for this period.
“The dynamics and completion of the works will surely depend on the weather conditions. Completion of the works is planned for the year 2017”, said Hubijar.
On behalf of the Consortium of contractors Rafael Topolsky expressed his satisfaction with the fact that they are the participants in the reconstruction of our ski resort on Bjelašnica, as he emphasized, a very famous and popular ski resort because of the 1984 Olympic Games.
The Prime Minister of the Sarajevo Canton also spoke: “The reconstruction of the vertical transport on Bjelašnica Mountain is, for us, one of the capital, and maybe one of the most important tourism and economic projects. Bjelašnica is a ski resort that, since the Olympics in 1984, until today has been in the same condition. No new technologies have been implemented and no new investments have been made since that time. We secured the amount of 16 million BAM which is the estimated necessary amount for this phase of reconstruction.” He also added that everyone will approach the realization of this project with great pleasure because this is an idea that was presented at the very beginning of the work of this Government. He also thanked to the local community – to the Mayor of Trnovo Municipality Ibro Berilo and his associates for their cooperation. “The only dilemma we have is not to interfere with the skiing season. The most important elements have been completed. Money has been secured, the contractor has been selected and the goal is clear.
“We think that, with the realization of this project, an investment chain will be initiated on the Olympic mountains, because we are prepairing for the organization of EYOF in the year 2019”, said Minister Šabić.
No matter the attitude of co-organiser from the Republic of Srpska, the Prime Minister Konaković announced that the Government of Sarajevo Canton is ready to finance the second part of funds necessary for the organization of this important international manifestation.
The President of the Sarajevo Canton Assembly Ana Babić, cantonal ministres of labour, social policy, displaced persons and refuges Amela Dautbegović, finance Jasmin Halebić and culture and sport Mirvad Kurić witnessed this signing.
